4 Stars Excellent overview, great ideas!
I got this book several months before my wedding, and I’m so glad I did. It helped me focus on the photos I wanted to have from my wedding - not just the ceremony and the reception, but everything that went into our big day. I find the how-tos included for every layout to be very useful, as I’m still a beginning scrapper; I’ve been able to adapt or scraplift several of the layouts thanks to the instructions. Some of the colors and styles are a bit dated, but in general this book focuses on timeless designs that are still as fresh now as they were 10 years ago (and in my opinion, a wedding album should look classic, not contemporary.) It’s also been a treasure trove of ideas for journaling, quotes, poems, etc. I recommend this to any bride planning her wedding album, or anyone making a wedding scrapbook as a gift.

just what i needed to kick start me into getting my sons wedding photos into an album,the ideas flow when someone gives you the excitment to begin both books gave me that i had been trying since early april to get the books from local store always to be told they are on there way but never getting here so will start with amazon next time and into the future thanks

I always wanted it to be, filled with joy and not feeling

5 Stars Too many pictures not in a scrapbook? Read this!
Stacy Julian has a novel approach to scrapbooking–it does not have to be chronological, and you do not have to scrapbook every picture you have ever taken. Instead, you should scrapbook what is meaningful to you, and tells your story or the story of your family. One suggested project is a scrapbook that is a journal with pictures of just one month in your family’s life. Stacy reminded me that “the big picture” of scrapbooking is meant to be fun.

5 Stars This Book Changed the Way I Scrapbook!
I love this book and know I will use it as a resource for many years to come. Her focus on the memory first, rather than the pictures is awesome. I’ve tended just to chronologically work on albums and wanted to get away from it for years, this album gives you lots of ways to start in a new direction. Her layouts are inspiring but mostly it is the heart that she shares. I highly recommend this book.

1 Star Didn’t inspire me in the least
I bought this book because I’d heard how it took the “guilt” out of being behind in scrapbooking and because it makes you look at scrapbooking in a whole new way. It did neither for me. For me, scrapbooking has always been about preserving my memories. It also gives me a creative outlet. I thought her organizational system was interesting, but it would never work for me. I may not scrap in chronological order, but I’d like my layouts to at least flow in some sort of chronological order. I also thought her layouts in the book were horrible and completely uninspiring. For a few great scrapbook idea books, I would go with Jeanette Lynton’s books, Cherish, Imagine, and Reflections.

5 Stars The Big Picture Scrapbook Ideas
I’ve been scrapbooking for about a year and own four books on the subject. I use this one by Stacy Julian the most because it contains more variety and more ideas outlined in an unfussy style.

Years ago all my photos were just thrown in a box and now, thanks to The Big Picture, they are organized so the whole family can enjoy them and the collection and storytelling just keeps growing. I also used to collect paper, so scrapbooking for me was a no brainer.

They will make nice keepsakes and carry on the family geneology.
